In the manga, Ryuga is an ancient king of the Dragon Clan, and hundreds of years old. Ryuga's backstory and character remain mostly the same during Metal Fusion, although by Metal Masters the anime and manga diverge significantly. In Beyblade: Shogun Steel, Ryuga does not appear in the anime, following the events of the Metal Fury anime, except for a brief cameo of his silhouette.
